Hello!

I’m Ellen, a scientist turned illustrator, author and qualified medical artist. From human biology to zoology, the prehistoric to the microscopic, I bring science to life through informative illustration + playful design.

All my work is human made in Hastings on the south coast of England.

My background

I studied Fine Art (sculpture) at Bath Spa University before spending more than 10 years in science and medical research, earning a PhD in Nutrition from King’s College London. I later combined my art and science skills and completed post-graduate training with the Medical Artists’ Education Trust, becoming a qualified medical illustrator.

My process

With a background spanning art, science and research, I bring a unique skillset to every project: a creative mind, scientific expertise, and an eye for detail. I blend scientific accuracy with playful design to translate science into informative illustration with a difference: vibrant, tactile and approachable, with a sense of fun.
